Don’t Need Favors

One of the things I have learned in my life is to NOT let people do me any favors. If I need something I will do it myself. I don’t need any favors.

Funny thing is that some people actually would lure you (for the lack of better words) into their favors and then when the time comes they will make you feel poorly if you don’t pay back.

I mean an even funnier thing is that the word favor is defined as an act performed out of good will, generosity, or mercy but the “favor” that these folks are performing comes out of some misplaced, twisted mentality. Hence the word favor absolutely and completely loses its value.

Now this does not sound good and it IS not good in any way; however the one helpful thing about it is that it points us to something very important.

When people who care about us such as family members or good friends (very rare these days) do us a favor they NEVER look back for a payment or something back to fulfill their hearts.

Bottom line is – do everything yourself and do not permit other people to do you favors. Surround yourself with people that LOVE you. Keep them as close as you can, make them feel appreciated and most importantly don’t USE them for your needs.
