I think the most powerful and motivating thing for me is when I see a man going against the world and its cruel, unfair ways. It is because of people like that I am still motivated myself and haven’t given up yet.
People like that have given themselves permission to be successful and can never be willing to stop when an obstacle arises. I think to them there is no good and bad anymore but everything to them is a challenge.
The hunger and feeling of success is infectious and so when you are around people like that sooner or later you become like them. You see that if you want you can stand up and go against the world – you finally see your potential.
Realizing that if you don’t do it, nobody will do it for you opens up your eyes. Reading it and intellectualizing it is not enough – one must experience it and when one does, then things become much more interesting.
I consider myself blessed because both of my parents are individuals who can never bow down to vicious and unfair ways of this world. I have been around them most of my life… what else could I ask for?
It doesn’t take courage to sit down, and go along with the stream, being part of the group just to be accepted and going with the artificial, created rules.
What does take courage is when you stand up, realize your imaginary limitations and try to break them one by one.
When limitations are too strong you stick with it and you try again and again. It might take a week, month or even years, but somewhere, somehow you still believe that it is possible. Everyone around will tell you to quit it and try to cripple you with their own opinions and beliefs.
What takes courage is to walk your path fully with those wounded knees.
